Ciclos económicos y dinámica laboral: inmigrantes latinoamericanos en Estados Unidos en la post recesión

Resumen

La debilidad del mercado de trabajo es uno de los rasgos que distinguen a la fase recuperación económica que sucedió a la Gran Recesión, reconocible entre otros aspectos en el lento descenso de la tasa de desempleo, la caída de la participación económica y de las tasas de empleo poblacional. Para valorar la situación de los inmigrantes latinoamericanos, en dicho contexto se emprende un análisis multivariado de la probabilidad de pasar del empleo a la inactividad económica en cuatro momentos: precrisis (2007), crisis (2009) y crecimiento (2014 y 2016), ajustados de manera independiente para hombres y mujeres. Los resultados corroboran el incremento general de dicha probabilidad, entre 2007 y 2016, la mayor vulnerabilidad de los inmigrantes latinoamericanos a los altibajos del ciclo y un balance en conjunto menos favorable para la fuerza de trabajo femenina que masculina en la post recesión.
